Reobsession
My obsession with Mailpile, my experimental e-mail search engine/webmail, is back!
I now have about 4GB of mail (178000 messages) indexed on my laptop which I can browse as a web page. Full results for any query return in under a second, usually between 100 and 300ms - more than 10x faster than GMail is for me.
The program does this on a laptop with a slow spinning hard drive, in under 116 MB of RAM - less than the GMail UI's memory footprint in Firefox.
I really want to turn Mailpile into a real product others can use...
