So, a few months ago, there was an internal announcment of a really cool new maps feature here at Google, the "My Maps" tab which has since launched and become visible to all.
I was very excited and played with it for a couple of days, marking places of interest in Reykjavík on the map.
Today Hrafnkell told me that my markings have made it into the Maps search engine. If you zoom in on Reykjavík and then search for "útlendingastofnun" or "swimming pool" you'll get results from my map. Pretty cool!
After playing with my Reykjavík map a bit I decided that the theme for it would be "practical places for people new to Reykjavík" (not quite the same as "tourist attractions"). If you have any suggestions for places I should add, feel free to let me know and I will.
Update: I've created a short URL for easy copy-paste of where the Reykjavík map is: http://bre.klaki.net/u?Reykjavik
