While I was in California, my rental car got towed one day. This was very annoying, but it made sense. The car was in the way, so they moved it.

What doesn't make sense to me is the Irish method of "clamping" cars that are illegally parked or in some other violation of The Rules. If a car is in the way, how does forcibly immobilizing it improve the situation? Although I suppose if a car is really in the way it must get towed eventually.

Oh well. Not that it matters to me, I don't drive. :-)
