I'm bemused and a bit annoyed right now.

It was brought to my attention that someone has taken pictures of me from my website and created a fake profile on Myspace using them - and my name. I wouldn't really be bothered much if they hadn't used my name, but it's not a common name and it's something people might search for, so that bugs me. To add insult to injury they also created a page impersonating one of my sisters, but they misspelled her name (making it non-searchable) and didn't put much effort into her fake profile.

As you can imagine, neither page is exactly flattering.

I'm not going to link to them because, well, they suck. Also because hopefully the links will be dead soon; I've sent a complaint to Myspace. It'll be interesting to see how long it takes for them to respond.

I think it's just random bad luck, some kids stumbled across my silly "bunny boy" picture and my web-site, thought I had a funny name and decided to have a laugh. They still haven't outgrown toilet humour, so I guess they're easily amused.

This kind of thing is the reason I've removed all publicly visible links to my photo albums and asked search engines to please not index them. This is also why I blog most things about my personal life in the locked part of my blog. The internet is just too full of idiots.

If I were the litigous type I could probably find myself a nice Silicon Valley lawyer and have them sued for defamation or slander or whatever it's called on this side of the pond.

But I don't really think it's worth it.
