Eat bomb!

2005-07-22 22:01
I use the English T9 dictionary quite a bit when composing SMS messages on my cell phone. I often find it midly entertaining to see which words share key combinations.

The one I hit the most often, is getting "he" when I try to write "if". Rather boring, that one, but it just keeps coming up.

Slightly more poetic, is the response "eat" when I try to write "fat". Not anorexic this phone, no sir.

My phone also has a high opinion of my girlfriend. When I try and write her name, "Anna", it invariably responds with "Bomb". Yes, I know she's hot, silly phone.

Things get a bit scary if you combine the two and try to write "Fat Anna". This will reveal the phone's protective side: it responds with "Eat bomb".

I personally think that's a somewhat extreme response, but the ways of cell phones are not easily understood by mere men.

In other news, my friend Steindór posted a comment with updates on the status of the Icelandic SMS bug. It's nice to know the problem has been officially recognized by the Nokia developers, but one wonders when/if we'll be able to get updated firmware for our phones.

Update: Oh yeah! I knew I was forgetting a good one: my friend Ine is "God" according to the T9 dictionary. :-)
