Perl is a great programming language. It not only makes toast and unclogs my sink, it also helps my girlfriend keep from getting pregnant!

How, you ask? Well, it does so in two ways. The traditional method is to keep me awake until late at night, well after she is asleep. This method has proven somewhat unreliable, although it can be very effective at times. The other method, which I came up just a few days ago and implemented tonight, is a perl script which sends Unnur an SMS message every night, reminding her to take her pill. Is that cool or what?

Next: Perl (and SMS messages) save the day by helping me remember important meetings, birthdays and suchlike.
