Note: This is a single entry from my online diary. Please note that I'm not always entirely serious and some entries probably won't make sense unless put in context with other entries. |

I thought they were a good idea, since they'd help people figure out whether it was worth their while to log in or not, but since everyone seems to disagree, and I'm always logged in anyway, I've decided to remove them.
The information they provided is still available through the RSS dumps. By default the RSS dumps don't display hidden entries either, but if you append ?all to their URLs (or use the bre2 and bre-active2 aliases on rss.molar.is) then they will become visible again.
Finally - just to make this absolutely clear - everyone who requests further access to my diary will get it, to at least some degree. From now on no personal entries will be posted to the anonymous diary. This means those of you who aren't interested in my boring life and come here for the technobabble or political opinions won't see the "boring stuff" anymore. This also means that those of you actually interested in my personal life have to introduce yourselves and ask for a password.
I'm trying to think of ways to make the login system more useful - that is, ways to offset the annoyance of having to log in with some sort of benefit that couldn't be had otherwise. So far all I've thought of is automatically filling peoples' names in to the comment boxes, thus saving them a few keystrokes (although people wishing to be anonymous can always delete their name and type something bogus instead). If you have any other ideas, please share them with me.
