Giving away your password (Sindri)

I'm not trying to "call bollocks" or anything, but can you actually think of a example where giving away your password to a 3rd party website is a good idea? I can't.

These users are if I'm not mistaken also violating the TOC of the LiveID(MSN) network. I seem to remember there being somewhere in there a clause that specifically prohibits giving your credentials to a 3rd party, although I might be mistaken here.

In the last couple of months I´ve been getting this from my MSN contacts as well. It there a way to know if my MSN has been affected (if I´m sending these messages out as well). As far as I know I haven't clicked on these links and given my password, although the first time it happened I did click on the link but I wasn´t asked for a password.

What I mean is, can you be 'infected' without knowing about it.
