Stop SOPA, PIPA etc.

My black-out for the day, is my face.

I oppose any centralized, automated techniques for censoring the Internet.

If someone posts illegal content online, standard legal practices should be used to have the content taken down at the source.

Any and all other strategies proposed so far, including SOPA, PIPA, the 3 strike laws in France, the censorship in China, Spain and Norway - all are undemocratic, bad for the Internet, bad for free speech and, importantly doomed to fail.

Working around them is just too easy, making the whole thing an exercise in fultility. Network-level censorship won't stop copyright infringement. It won't stop child abuse. All it will accomplish is to make the Internet less reliable and put some legitimate companies out of business. Why would anyone support that?
