Thinking of the Children
Today I read an article in Fréttablaðið where it was argued that being able to sweep child pornography under the carpet, was sufficient justification for invasive monitoring, surveillance and censorship of the Internet.
Those are not the words he used, but that is what he was asking for.
I really, really disagree.
On the other hand, I agree with everything else he wrote in that article, so he is only 25% wrong. :-) I wonder if it would help to have a chat with him and explain why us Internet freedom types are so opposed to the filtering he desires? This guy works for UNICEF. I know a guy who works for UNICEF. Maybe I should see if a meeting could be arranged?
For the children.
